Ifeanyi Ubah to spend 14 more days with DSS

Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah.
This is indeed not a good time for Multi-billionaire, CEO of Capital Oil & Gas Ltd, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah as a Federal Capital Territory court has given the DSS the nod to hold him for another 14 days.
The directive came minutes after a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the Department of State Service to release embattled oil magnate, Ifeanyi Ubah, within 48 hours,

Justice Yusuf Halilu of the FCT Federal High Court on Thursday extended the detention order of the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd following an ex-parte application the DSS filed through its lawyer Mr. G.O.A. Agbadua.

The agency said it filed the application considering that an earlier order the court granted it on May 10, elapsed on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ubah’s lawyer, Mrs. Ifeoma Esom has filed a fresh application asking the court to compel the DSS to release her client on administrative bail.

It could be recalled that The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) alleged that Ubah’s company diverted 84,891,730 liters of Premium Motor Spirit belonging to the NNPC.

The NNPC added that despite writing Ubah and his company to return the product or pay the money, they had “deliberately failed, refused and/or neglected to do so.”
