Kenyan plane crash |
All 10 passengers of FlySax plane that crashed on Tuesday in the central Kenya died in the crash, the government has said.
The Cessna C208 aircraft, registration number 5Y-CAC, left a Kitale airstrip in Trans-Nzoia County at 4.05 p.m. for Nairobi but lost contact with the control tower at 5.20 p.m.
On board were the pilot, Barbra Kamau, and First Officer and co-pilot, Jean Mureithi.
According to the BBC, the state transport minister, Paul Maringa, said, ”A mountain rescue team of the Kenya Wildlife Service has reached the wreckage of the aircraft. Unfortunately, from the reports we are getting there are no survivors.
”The families of the passengers and the crew have been notified and as a ministry, we truly regret this very sad outcome and send out our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.” He added
The eight passengers were identified as Ahmed Ali Abdi, Karaba Sailah Waweru Muiga, Khetia Kishani, Matakasakaraia Thamani, Matakatekei Paula, Ngugi George Kinyua, Pinuertorn Ronald and Wafula Robinson.
