Ivan Rakitic was a key part of Croatia's brilliant World Cup campaign and the midfielder is now enjoying a well-earned break with his family.

Having been on quite the ride with his country in Russia, making it all the way to the final of the World Cup, the 30-year-old went on a different kind of ride with his wife on Thursday.

The pair, who married in 2013 and have two young children, took to Instagram to share photos of themselves spending some quality time together on horseback.

The couple were all smiles as they posed for the snaps, Rakitic looking grateful for some downtime after an incredibly long campaign.

No player in Europe played more matches than the 71 competed in by the Croatian in the 2017/18 season.

Having helped Barcelona win a La Liga and Copa del Rey double, Rakitic went on to have a sensational World Cup with his national side.
