Niger PDP Women Leader urge women to participate in politics

Women cannot afford to shy away from politics; they constitute the largest voting group and are usually the worst hit by any bad political decision.

Hajia Sa’adatu Kolo, the Peoples Democratic Party Women Leader in Niger, on Saturday in Minna  motivated women to participate in politics and seek elective positions so as to influence decision-making processes .

In her word she  “it is very dangerous” for women to shy away from politics and leave the turf for only men.“More women in politics means more women problems will receive more attention,” she said. ’

“Poverty has been the lot of many women. Some of them are also the victims of violence that usually erupt from bad political decisions.

“Issues like children, welfare, human rights, fairness are best understood by women. The need for peace is also best understood by women because they bear the brunt of every violence. We must stand up so that our voices will be heard,” she said.
